    In developing of their actions, INIFAP has the following objectives:

    Objective 1

    Generate and adapt scientific knowledge in response to demands for agricultural and forestry chains in the country to contribute to sustainable development, seeking the rational use and conservation of natural resources.

    Objective 2

    Develop and promote strategic and timely frontier research to contribute to the solution of major problems of productivity, competitiveness, sustainability and equity of the agricultural and forestry sector.

    Objective 3

    Promote and support the forestry, agriculture and livestock technological innovation according to priority needs and demands of producers and society through a participatory and co-work with other institutions and public and private organizations associated with the field and contribute to the formation of human resources.

    Objective 4

    Strengthening institutional capacity through upgrading, renewal, outsourcing and motivation, as well as modernization of infrastructure, procedures and management to meet the demands of society.

    Strategic Lines

    Based on the aforementioned objectives and results of the internal analysis of the strengths and weaknesses confronting threats and opportunities presented to the Institution it have five strategic areas.

    1. Connection with the environment

    Promotes strategic partnerships and coordination and cooperation with the various actors that make up the environment for more efficient use of resources and offer solutions that society demands through new technologies, products and services.

    This strategy considers the following:

    Reunion Strategic alliances with users, beneficiaries, clients and sponsors.

    Reunion Scientific and technological cooperation.

    Reunion Participation in the consolidation of a National System of Forest Research, Agriculture and Livestock

    2. Institutional Sustainability.

    Contains elements of continuous improvement to the formulation of plans that position the Institution at the level required by users and society, decentralized, simplifies and make more efficient operations, according to sectoral policies and planning monitoring and evaluation schemes, to consolidate, strength and ensure the presence and corporate image in time. This strategy considers the following:

    Reunion Planning, monitoring and evaluation.

    Reunion Modernization, decentralization and simplification of management and operational processes.

    Reunion Concentrated efforts and training of critical mass.

    Reunion Positioning and institutional image

    Reunion Suport for the revaluation of the sector.

    3. Revaluation of Human resources.

    Consider the professionalism, assessment and permanently renewal of scientific and support staff, preparing them to fulfill in the best way the institutional mission; training and motivating all its members, with ethical and moral values; providing encouragement and incentives for productivity.     4. Modernization of Infrastructure and Equipment.

    To maximize the capabilities of response to the demands and opportunities of the environment for the benefit of society in general and industry in particular, the institution must have the cutting-edge equipment and facilities which will enable staff to develop their potential in propper work environment. This strategy considers the following:
